This is the free public lab: everything made here -- your prompts, the model and its code -- is public the moment it is made, in the archive for anyone to read and reuse. Nothing is sold here; a private lab of your own, where you can sell what you make, is a rung up the ladder.

doneI've built the 6206 deep-groove ball bearing on its shaft inside a housing. It builds with 25 parts and an overall size of 101 × 60 × 94 mm. Its bearing axis runs along Y. **Parts** - **Shaft stub** (slate gray) through the 30 mm bore, with a red key-like mark on its surface so you can see it turn. - **Inner ring** (steel blue), with an orange mark on its front face that turns with the shaft. - **Outer ring** (dim gray), which stays fixed. - **Nine balls** (silver), 9.525 mm across, on the 46 mm pitch circle. - **Cage** (brass): nine small links, each sitting between two neighbouring balls. - **Housing** (dark olive green): a sleeve around the outer ring on a foot block. - I made the rings narrower than the full radial height of a real bearing, so the balls stay visible between them, especially looking along the axis. **Motion** When you change **shaft-angle-deg**, the shaft, its mark and the inner-ring mark turn by the full angle. The balls and cage go round by the cage ratio, 0.5 × (1 − 9.525/46) = 0.396 of that angle. The outer ring and housing stay still. **Results with the default inputs** (each is a result slot on the model, with its unit in its description): - Pitch diameter: 46 mm - Cage speed: 1189.4 rpm - Ball spin speed: 6933.5 rpm - Ball-pass frequency, outer ring: 178.4 Hz; inner ring: 271.6 Hz - Equivalent load P: 3000 N (Fa/Fr = 0.167, which is under 0.27, so P = Fr) - L10 life: 274.6 million revolutions, which is about 1526 hours at 3000 rpm - Static safety factor C0/Fr: 3.73 - Speed factor n × dm: 138,000 mm/min **Inputs you can change in the Inputs panel:** bore, outside diameter, width, number of balls (6 to 12), ball diameter, C, C0, radial and axial load, shaft speed, and shaft-angle-deg (slider from 0 to 720°). **Limits** - The engine can't cut shapes out of solids, so the rings and housing are plain tubes with no raceway grooves. - Round parts are drawn as polygons in the wireframe view. - The life and load formulas assume zero contact angle and use only the single 0.27 switch point for Fa/Fr that you gave. - If you set a large ball diameter together with many balls, the balls and cage links can overlap. The model doesn't guard against this.

promptA single-row deep-groove ball bearing, size 6206, carrying a shaft in a housing. Parts: inner ring, outer ring, the balls, a cage shown as small links between neighbouring balls, a stub of shaft through the bore and a housing block around the outer ring, drawn so the balls stay visible between the rings. Inputs: bore 30 mm, outside diameter 62 mm, width 16 mm, number of balls 9, ball diameter 9.525 mm, basic dynamic load rating 19500 N, basic static load rating 11200 N, radial load 3000 N, axial load 500 N, shaft speed 3000 rpm, and the STATE input shaft-angle-deg. The inner ring and shaft turn with the shaft angle (put a mark on the shaft so it shows); the balls and cage orbit at the cage ratio, 0.5 (1 - ball diameter / pitch diameter) of the shaft angle, as they do with the outer ring fixed. Compute: pitch diameter, cage speed in rpm, ball spin speed in rpm, ball-pass frequency on the outer and on the inner ring in Hz, equivalent dynamic load P (P = Fr when Fa/Fr is at most 0.27, otherwise 0.56 Fr + 1.6 Fa), basic rating life L10 = (C/P)^3 in millions of revolutions and in hours at the shaft speed, the static safety factor C0 / Fr, and the speed factor n x dm in mm/min. (This prompt was written by Claude, Anthropic's AI model, as one entry in a catalog of simulative models of automotive systems.) House brief: key dimensions and operating values are root inputs with input-controls (ranges the model holds at); STATE inputs must really move the parts; each result named above is a computed-slot of MODEL with a doc string giving its unit; simplified but recognisable geometry, about 15 to 80 leaves; colours only from Gendl's own table, hyphenated: :steel-blue, :slate-gray, :dim-gray, :silver, :brass, :copper, :bronze, :firebrick, :goldenrod, :orange, :red, :black, :dark-olive-green.

Welcome to Sluice.

Sluice is for inspecting Gendl models while you're developing them. You can see your model structure in the tree at the upper left.

The display list of this viewport is empty. Click a node in the tree to apply the add-leaves operation.

The rendering mode is Wireframe (this viewport's View menu). Wireframe is a pannable, zoomable SVG; the shaded modes are navigable X3D scenes, in either of two X3D browsers. The X_ITE scene offers a headset button where WebXR is available.
