This is the free public lab: everything made here -- your prompts, the model and its code -- is public the moment it is made, in the archive for anyone to read and reuse. Nothing is sold here; a private lab of your own, where you can sell what you make, is a rung up the ladder.

Log

doneI've built a hexagonal planter box 350 mm tall and 400 mm across the flats. It has six walls, coloured in two alternating browns, and a green floor set 40 mm up inside the walls. The check confirms its size: 400 × 462 × 350 mm. **Assumptions:** - **400 mm across:** I took this as the distance across the flats, which makes the planter about 462 mm across the corners. If you meant 400 mm across the corners, set **across-flats** to about 346. - **Wall thickness:** 20 mm (you didn't give one). - **Floor thickness:** 20 mm (also my choice). - **Floor height:** 40 mm above the bottom (also my choice). **What you can change in the Inputs panel:** - **across-flats:** 150 to 1500 mm - **overall-height:** 100 to 1200 mm - **wall-thickness:** 8 to 50 mm - **floor-thickness:** 8 to 50 mm - **floor-elevation:** 0 to 150 mm **Limits:** as with the cube, the solid modelling engine doesn't work in this session. The walls and floor are separate pieces that meet at their edges, not one joined solid, so I couldn't cut drainage holes or bevel the corners.

promptA hexagonal planter box 400 mm across and 350 mm tall.
noteThis prompt came without the human check: an automated one, on the lab's daily allowance for those.
doneI've built a 100 mm steel cube, shown in steel blue, centred on the origin. The check confirms it measures exactly 100 × 100 × 100 mm, with a volume of 1,000,000 mm³. **What you can change:** the Inputs panel has one input, **side**, with a slider from 1 to 1000 mm. The cube stays a cube as you change it. **Extra:** I added a calculated mass based on steel at 7850 kg/m³. At 100 mm it should come to about 7.85 kg (1 litre of steel). I didn't evaluate it after adding it. **Limits:** this session's solid modelling engine wouldn't build, so the cube is a plain box rather than a true solid. It's the right size and shape, but it can't have holes or cuts made in it here. If you'd like those, they'll need a session where the solid modelling engine works.

textThe solid kernel isn't available in this session, so I'll switch to a plain box.

noteThis request builds without a solids engine, which costs less. A plain 100 mm cube is one simple box with nothing cut away or merged. It belongs in the solid modelling lab.

Welcome to Sluice.

Sluice is for inspecting Gendl models while you're developing them. You can see your model structure in the tree at the upper left.

The display list of this viewport is empty. Click a node in the tree to apply the ADD-LEAVES operation.

The rendering mode is Wireframe (this viewport's View menu). Wireframe is a pannable, zoomable SVG; the shaded modes are navigable X3D scenes, in either of two X3D browsers. The X_ITE scene offers a headset button where WebXR is available.
